2003-12-20 - 11:52 a.m. I should be shopping right now. It's 5 days before Christmas and I haven't bought a single present. Not one. Now, some folks may have a problem with this, and wince when they hear this, but I'm perfectly comfortable with it. I'm just avoiding the early rush, that's all... Waiting until just before Christmas to go shopping is practically tradition in my family. It really doesn't feel like Christmas unless we're running around Christmas morning looking for that one last box of chocolate to give to a forgotten relative. A few years ago, my dad and I actually went to Long's at 10 at night on Christmas Eve to get my baby cousin a present. How sad is that?? Now, I'm generally not quite this "talented" on my own, but I rutinely wait until Christmas Eve day to complete (or start) my shopping. Take this year for example. I know full well that I'm working on Tuesday and Wednesday, I have plans for Monday afternoon, and I don't feel like shopping today(Sunday). So I figure, if all goes to plan, I have a good 3-4 hours to get presents for...umm....EVERYBODY!! Yet still, I don't mind this situation. I actually think I work much better under pressure. The people that're GETTING the presents may not agree, but hey, it's only once a year, right? Anyway, they'll forget about it by next Christmas...I hope....
